Art Exhibit - Cellphone Addiction

My work is about cellphone use and its compulsion. Because social media is so prevalent in our culture, I narrow in on adolescents absorbed by the lure of apps, which transforms the way they communicate and behave socially. My work engages with this topic by illustrating specific relationships they have with each other and the consequences that may arise with technology. I love the process of painting and drawing people in a representational manner with the hopes of capturing timely moments in its unadulterated state. Cellphone use is that catalyst, and I continue to investigate this subject and its validity through compositions in my work......Maria Jimenez
