This 12 week documentary intensive will give MNN certified producers the opportunity to produce a 4-7-minute mini-documentary. Students will learn how to script, plan, shoot and edit a mini-documentary. Students will also learn advanced composition and image control techniques along with strategies for capturing the best sound in the field.
Students will use MNN’s professional field camera Sony Z150 and editing software Adobe Premiere Pro to produce their documentary. Out-of-class assignments, field shooting and editing hours will be required. Students must supply their own SD cards and Mac-formatted hard drive to store and edit their media.
There will be a public screening of all mini-documentaries at Manhattan Neighborhood Network. MNN will have the right to air all completed work on its channels and digital platforms.
The course fee is $50 and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Upon acceptance into the course, students will need to supply payment to the media education department in-person via credit/debit or check/money order.
