<EpisodeTitle>AIDS & HealthCare Groups Criticize Cuomo's Cuts to Medicaid & Hospitals</EpisodeTitle>
<Description>Pacifica Faces Referendum Gutting Democratic governance. Yesterday at noon, about 70 people from ACT UP/NY, Vocal New York, and other AIDS and LGBT organizations held a rally in front of the Manhattan offices of Governor Andrew Cuomo demanding passage of a group of taxes on the rich to offset the Governor’s gigantic cuts to Medicaid, public hospitals and public health projects. The 6 tax proposals from the Invest in Our New York Campaign include a billionaires tax, a Robinhood Tax on Wall Street trades, and several more taxes on wealthy New Yorkers. Activists say that Cuomo's cuts will slash Medicaid by $2 billion and eliminate the 340B drug pricing plan that funds $250 million annually to non-profit healthcare providers around the state like Housing Works and Callen-Lorde medical clinic all of which provide services to people with AIDS. Speakers include: activists Jewanza Williams, Mark Hannay, YuLing Koh Hsu, & Dr. Steve Auerbach</Description>
