This documentary discusses cultural resistance and the recognitions of the collective memory of Venezuela's black communities, who are descendants of cimarrones, or runaway slaves. Filmed in Venezuela and Cameroon, Water, Drums, An Ancestral Encounter elaborates on the connection between the water drums played along the rivers of various Afro-descendants of Venezuela.
