The story of Latino American civil rights activist Cesar Chavez who co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, and whose efforts were opposed, sometimes violently, by the owners of the large industrial farms. The film follows Chávez's efforts to organize 50,000 farm workers in California. Featuring a stellar cast, with Michael Pena in the role of Chavez.
